IdentityX provides a platform for integrators (service providers) to offer out-of-band authentication to their customers, employees, or partners.
The IdentityX Server is the foundation of the IdentityX solution, serving as an authentication broker between the service provider and the customer. The server sits between the service provider application(s) and the application that resides on the end customer’s mobile device. The server accepts authentication requests from the service provider application, determines which authentication modalities are required for the specified transaction, communicates with the appropriate mobile device to acquire the authentication payload, performs the actual authentication processing, and informs both the SP and the mobile device of the results. The security of these communications is ensured by the server.
The IdentityX Server exposes interface points through the IdentityX Service Provider Gateway to sponsor customers, generate authentication requests, and to determine the results of authentication requests. These open standards based SOAP web services are documented in the IdentityX Service Provider Gateway Interface Guide available through the Developer Downloads section.
IdentityX Mobile Device Frameworks, available for the RIM (Blackberry), iPhone, and Android, handle secure communication between the customer’s mobile device and the IdentityX Device Gateway. Each IdentityX Mobile Device Framework enables sponsorship, enrollment, biometric quality checking, transaction retrieval, and transaction verification. Information on the IdentityX Mobile Device Frameworks is available in the Developer Downloads section.
